CSO Clarinet Quartet

  • Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra 1241 Elm Street Cincinnati, OH, 45202 United States (map)

CSO Chamber Players features the clarinet section!

Program and Description:

After hearing a rehearsal of his visceral and autobiographical Quartet No. 8, it is said that Shostakovich wept, “overwhelmed by this beautiful realization of his most personal feelings.” Composer Michael Henry, himself a clarinetist, makes playful use of the instrument in his spirited Birdwatching. Mendelssohn’s First String Quartet, a poignant and personal work of disquieting beauty, completes the program.
